Masonry wall with dry wall lining is designed to provide additional performances over the existing masonry wall on protection from external heat, noise and condensation control with the use of insulation in the cavity. This application offers a unique advantage in situations in which the external facades cannot be insulated from the outside due to conservation requirements or when decorative masonry stone is designed on the external facades.
The dry wall lining on the internal surface is typically gypsum, calcium silicate or cement wall boards. Occasionally vapour barrier is included in the construction when there are concerns on high moisture movement in the construction. Insulation is critical to blocked off external heat coming into building and reducing your electrical bills.
