Ningxia International Convention Center was put in use in September 2015, as the main venue of the 2nd China-Arab Expo. The 45-meter-high Center has a total construction area of 75,000 square meters, equipped with central conference hall, theater-style conference hall, auditorium and other functional areas. It can serve for large international trade and cultural exchanges and forums. As a large-scale exhibition building and urban landmark project, the establishment of this Center has a significant influence on the political and economic development of Ningxia Autonomous Region.
Ningxia International Conference Center’s first task was to hold the China-Arab Expo, so every aspect from the design to the construction was required to complete by high standard. The owner was also very cautious in selecting suppliers of building materials, especially insulation materials. ROCKWOOL’s Class-A non-combustible insulation materials fully meet the requirements of fire resistance of populated buildings in GB50016-2014, putting extra scores to the fire safety of the Center. Beyond that, ROCKWOOL’s outstanding performance in insulation and noise reduction also earned approval from the owner who was looking forward to creating a comfortable indoor and acoustic environment that would contribute to the energy saving from heating and cooling as well.
The completion of Ningxia International Convention Center took only two years; the project schedule was very tight.
