We’re looking for a dedicated Production Supervisor to join our Rockfon Production team, based at our Chicago facility, at 4849 South Austin Avenue, Chicago, IL 60638. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, this role is essential in leading production operations to deliver high-quality products, ensure safety, and drive continuous improvement.

Salary: $70,000–$90,000

What you will be doing:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for cost-effective manufacturing of Grid products, meeting quality standards, fostering a safe work environment, and maintaining compliance with personnel policies. You will oversee production scheduling, task assignments, and the continuous improvement of operating efficiency and product quality.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead, train, and manage a production team of up to 30 employees, including Operators, Set-up, and Material Handlers.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support employee development.
  • Oversee employee scheduling, ensure accurate timekeeping, and manage corrective actions when necessary.
  • Actively participate in the hiring process to build a strong, motivated team.

Production Oversight & Optimization:

  • Coordinate daily production schedules to align with customer demands, inventory levels, and staffing availability.
  • Monitor and analyze production performance using SAP and Mii systems, making adjustments to meet operational goals.
  • Identify and address causes of downtime by analyzing reports and implementing improvements to boost overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Process Improvement

  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvements in processes, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Develop and implement solutions for production bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

Safety & Compliance

  • Foster a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct accident investigations promptly and implement preventative measures to ensure a safe working environment.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, shipping, and planning teams to achieve production objectives.
  • Maintain open communication with shift supervisors to ensure smooth transitions and consistent operations.

Facility & Resource Management

  • Ensure the workspace adheres to 6-S standards and housekeeping procedures for cleanliness and organization.
  • Support inventory, receiving, and quality checks for base materials and capping products.
  • Oversee facility opening and closing responsibilities as required.

What you bring:

  •  3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using production reporting tools and interpreting data for decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, resource allocation, and production planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead teams effectively.
  • Proven organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SAP and Mii systems is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in manufacturing or construction-related industries.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
