Your future team

As a member of the Fluids team, you will play a pivotal role within Group Technology, ROCKWOOL’s internal engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor in charge of designing, procuring, installing, commissioning, and starting up the machinery essential for operating a ROCKWOOL factory. With a focus on chemicals, water, and cooling systems, our team of four engineers specializes in the design and engineering of process equipment. Together, we collaborate closely to ensure the seamless integration and optimal performance of critical systems, contributing to the success and efficiency of our factory operations.

You will often be the only fluids expert within the many projects you join, but you will always have your fellow fluids engineers to draw on for knowledge and advice. To ensure smooth onboarding, you will receive the guidance and expertise from our seasoned Chief Engineer, complemented by the fresh and innovative ideas contributed by our young team members.

What you will be doing

Working on projects varying in size, cost, and duration, you will use your process understanding to design and create solutions for our fluids storage, handling, dosing, and recycling systems and see these implemented at production sites globally.

For full-scope projects, you will be responsible for the design, selection and sizing, procurement coordination, overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning of the process plant. The short-term projects will require concept study, cost estimation, and design proposals for troubleshooting problems, ensuring that our factories can keep producing our high-quality products.

To accomplish this, you will:

  • Travel up to 80 days per year to communicate with factory staff and management to understand their need, deliver the solution, and provide oversight during commissioning and aftercare phases.
  • Communicate effectively, manage contracts, and follow up with suppliers to ensure the delivery of optimal solutions.
  • Manage and maintain designs, budgets, and time schedules of your own projects.
  • Develop and document technical specifications, including documentation required for CE marking compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate corrective/preventative actions on operating fluids-related equipment

What you bring

You thrive in a position where you are responsible for translating client needs into the right solution through collaboration with clients, suppliers, and team members. You are excited to propose creative solutions, and you thrive on optimisations wherever possible.

You also bring:

  • Experience in a similar role involving the design, selection, and sizing of process equipment, specifically in:
    • Water, wastewater, process water, and rainwater treatment plants.
    • Chemical storage and handling,
    • Heating and cooling systems, or
  • A degree in chemical, mechanical, process engineering, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in evaluating and transforming customer needs into piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), with a keen eye for monitoring implementations to ensure high quality and durability.
  • Strong adaptability, demonstrated through your ability to thrive in dynamic environments and quickly adjust to changing priorities.
  • Proven teamwork skills, evident in your collaborative approach to problem-solving and your ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Resilience in facing challenges, showcasing your ability to persevere and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Fluent communication skills in English.
  • Preferred qualifications include:
    • Knowledge and experience in the resin and adhesive chemical industry.
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD Plant 3D.
    • Additional language proficiency.

We know that you might not meet all the things on this list, but you might bring skills and experience that we haven’t even included here.
