MEET ANDERS ESPE: OUR PURPOSE AND SUSTAINABILITY ATTRACTED ME TO ROCKWOOL
“Our purpose, our sustainability story and our company profile were the main things that attracted me to ROCKWOOL. It’s a very well-known company in Denmark with a strong family foundation, which is something that I find very attractive in a company.
Our purpose, coupled with the very important products we make and the difference we can make in the world, is very motivating for me. I also enjoy the entrepreneurial spirit within the Systems division where we have an intriguing combination of robust businesses with strong and exciting growth prospects – all using stone wool as the fundamental material and all very well aligned with our purpose”.
When meeting people, ROCKWOOL’s purpose is something that Anders is very eager to talk about.
“ROCKWOOL’s purpose is something I’m proud of and something I share. Most of the people in my social and business circles know ROCKWOOL, know the insulation story and the focus on saving CO2 emissions. Sometimes, they ask me about our production, suggesting that it is very energy intensive work to create stone wool. So I often share the story about how much CO2 is saved throughout the lifetime of our products and also that we are working on reducing our carbon footprint in our production.
The culture of ROCKWOOL is very humble and modest. Energy savings and CO2 reductions are vital for the future, but we’re contributing to even more than that. We’re also about enabling the sustainable growing of fruits and vegetables, securing fire safety, making the most comfortable indoor environments, offering aesthetic solutions for both the inside and outside of buildings, and contributing climate adaptation solutions through Rockflow. So we are really are striving to achieve our vision in many different ways”.
