Why does moisture repellence matter?

Moisture occurs in almost any construction – it's when it doesn't go away over time that problems occur.

Over time, accumulated moisture can cause building materials to degrade, potentially affecting the structural integrity of a building and the air quality for occupants, which could lead to health issues such as respiratory illness and allergies.

Our stone wool is non-hygroscopic and moisture repellent. What's the difference? Moisture repellence means it is engineered to prevent water from penetrating the surface, while non-hygroscopic means it will not attract or absorb moisture from the surrounding environment. Both are important features in many of our products, including ROCKWOOL insulation, Rockpanel cladding and Rockfon acoustic tiles.
