Experience superior ROCKWOOL Comfortboard® in exterior-insulated stucco systems: safety, performance, and sustainability combined.

ROCKWOOL Comfortboard enhances stucco-clad building envelopes with fire resistance, moisture management, and energy efficiency. Compatible with one- and three-coat stucco assemblies, it streamlines design for new builds and retrofits.

Comfortboard's noncombustible composition ensures code compliance, including NFPA 285 and 1-hour fire-rated assemblies. Its vapor-permeable properties boost moisture resistance.

Versatile beyond stucco, Comfortboard excels in below-grade and sloped roofing applications. It minimizes thermal bridging, withstands UV exposure, and maintains performance through multiple recycling cycles.

  • Fire-resistant: Noncombustible and code-compliant, with available NFPA 285 and 1-hour fire-rated assemblies for one-coat stucco systems
  • Moisture-resistant: Vapor-permeable and quick-drying, enhancing the wall assembly's drying potential
  • Durable: High dimensional stability and compressive strength to meet specific structural requirements
  • Versatile: Suitable for both one- and three-coat insulated stucco assemblies, new builds or retrofits, and various other applications including below-grade, under concrete slab, floor-ceiling assemblies, and sloped roofing
  • Energy-efficient: Minimizes thermal bridging and reduces heat loss, improving indoor comfort and energy savings
  • Adaptable: UV-stable to withstand project delays and compatible with dark finishes
  • Sustainable: Made from natural, recyclable materials that maintain performance through multiple lifecycles
For our stucco assembly, the entire house has a 2” layer of Comfortboard continuous insulation. It’s great in any climate but if you’re in a northern climate it’s especially important to get that dew point outside of your sheathing with this product. It balances vapor permeability and thermal performance, and it keeps walls breathing while maintaining your R-values, which means drier, more energy-efficient buildings that stand the test of time.
