Slab Range

The ROCKWOOL Slab Insulation range can be used in multiple applications including floors, walls and roofs. They achieve Euroclass A1 standard for the general building market.

Where and how can our products be used?

We offer a wide range of robust, adaptable products suitable for an array of applications.

They’re ideal for many different functions when installed in a building. Our range includes cavity wall insulation slabs, loft insulation slabs and flooring solutions to name but a few, with external façade and roof applications also a key part of our offering.

Due to the rigid, semi-rigid and flexible nature of our stone wool insulation slabs they can easily be installed in a variety of applications. They can be slotted into spaces like cavity and partition walls with ease, whether these have a brick, concrete, timber frame or other base structure. This also ensures they are easy to lay in-between floors as sound insulation slabs too.

Stone wool is water repellent while simultaneously allowing water vapour to pass through. This makes our slabs a great addition to ceilings and basements, where moisture and damp could otherwise pose problems.

Installation

Our stone wool insulation slabs are designed for easy installation. They’re rigid, easy to transport and don’t usually require any specialist equipment to lay.

Here’s a few tips to remember.

Cutting our slabs is simple, using a sharp, long-bladed knife or insulation saw. Accurately measure out how much you need to cut to avoid leaving gaps.
Don’t squash down any existing insulation. When you install our slabs lay them down gently on top to avoid compressing and impacting insulation.

When it comes to regulating temperatures, protecting against fire and blocking out sound, insulation slabs developed by ROCKWOOL solutions can be an important addition to any building.

Are ROCKWOOL slabs good for sound insulation?

How do you check if your home is insulated properly?

A good way to tell if your home is insulated properly is whether the indoor comfort is of a high standard. If your home feels very cold in the winter, and you are having to increase heating and energy costs to deal with this, your property’s current insulation may not be sufficient. The presence of condensation or mould can also be a symptom of poor quality or poorly installed insulation.

Likewise, if you are experiencing severe disruption in your property due to noise coming from neighbouring properties or outside, you may require better quality acoustic insulation.
