Why does durability matter?
Whether it’s our homes, schools, hospitals or any number of other examples, buildings play important roles in our lives and we can probably agree they should be built to last – with materials that last. Based on volcanic rock, stone wool is durable. Our insulation is non-combustible and moisture repellent with proven thermal and acoustic properties, which don’t deteriorate over time. What’s more, it can be recycled over and over with no loss in performance.
By using durable materials, we ensure that the buildings we care about are preserved for future generations, avoiding unnecessary resource consumption and reducing waste. You know what else? Buildings "built to last" require less frequent maintenance, repairs and renovation, which means lower costs and less disruption for occupants and activities in the building.
