Fire Resistance
AFB is non-combustible, can withstand temperatures up to 2,150 oF and will not develop toxic smoke or promote flame spread, even when directly exposed to fire. AFB has the lowest possible flame spread / smoke development index of 0 / 0 when tested in accordance with ASTM E84.
AFB is a key component of several UL and Intertek listed fire partitions and is available in a number of different thicknesses to meet the needs of your project for both new construction and renovation. Durability
The durability of AFB provides the optimal balance of rigidity and flexibility helping to make installations easy, fast, and efficient. The flexibility of the batt allows for simple insertion into the stud cavity, while the added rigidity and recovery of the product provides a complete fit into the assembly, minimizing gaps and compression to provide optimal and long term performance of the wall assembly.
